The 'chulha' (stove) where the cooking is done is wood fired, into which cow-dung patties are also used fuel. The women place pots for cooking when the fire is very hot. The principal meal consists of unleavened bread eaten with a spicy chutney of chillies and garlic. Most meals are vegetarian, and though the villagers eat they do not consume it regularly. In the old days, Rajputs would hunt and the spoils were shared with families in the village.
