This is a typical place of worship in a Rajasthani rural (village) house. The man worshipped, the man on the horse, is Pabuji, a folk-deity of Rajasthan. The Bhopa community in this desert state are the priest singers of this hero and depict the story on a 'phad', a painted canvas, and recite it to the villagers through songs accompanied by the ravanhatta, a type of violin.
