Masala chai (literally "mixed-spice tea") is a beverage from the Indian subcontinent made by brewing tea with milk and a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. Street vendors called "chai wallahs" (sometimes spelled "chaiwalas") are a common sigh in most Indian villages and cities.
