Indian women decorating their feet with reddish powder made into a paste.

Most women in India wear anklets, sometimes to show their marital status. They are mostly made of silver or brass, but when rich, you can buy them in gold studded with jewels..Women's also decorate their feet, using henna (mehndi), coloured powder or a reddish paste. Women often dye the soles of their feet red and, especially for their wedding day, have intricate designs of mehndi, or traditional henna stains, applied to the tops of their feet.
